I really wish I didn't have to talk about this which is why I am going to make it really short. I HATE THIS TOPIC! Not only are gender and same-sex attraction such controversial topics today, but they confuse the heck out of me, I don't know which side to take, and they make me bitter. It is actually very bitter-sweet. I know everyone has their own free agency and they well do what they will and I totally accept that, but their decisions affect my judgement. I do not support same-sex attraction but I support free agency. What am I supposed to do!?
I have been taught in several classes to not be disagreeable, but I don't have to agree with certain decisions (at least I think that is what I've been taught.....something like that). I have grown up with many people who later decided that they were attracted to the opposite sex. I still like the person but I don't necessarily agree with the path they have chosen. Some people choose to act upon that attraction and some don't. I think that I what I don't agree with. Someone can be attracted to the same gender, but acting on that......yeah no, that's not okay.
I am not here to judge, argue, or be biased. I'm just shooting out my thoughts.
What bugs me most is we have been taught all our lives and it is an age-old concept that marriage is between MAN and WIFE. Then there comes the whole debate of gender, what defines it? I think gender is very distinct. You can't play with your sex (in a biological sense). One of our purposes here on Earth is to bare children (going back to the proclamation). I know there are some couples who cannot have children, but if they can, the only way for a couple to have a child is between a man and a woman. And many studies support and prove that the best environment to raise a child is in a home where there is a father and a mother (male and female, not man and man or woman and woman). Everything is so complicated these days and it shouldn't be.
The other day me and my roommate were watching TV and we noticed one of the commercials was supporting a "gay" couple. We both thought, "Seriously". I can't go anywhere now and avoid this topic. It is everywhere.
I need to stop talking. All I am doing is complaining, but I just can't take it anymore. I'm sick of the world forcing this stuff on everyone in the hope that we will just accept it. I WON'T.
